As the day ends and I’m on my way back home, I look at Manhar beside me driving with our usual songs playing on the radio. I realise how much efforts and patience it takes to make a marriage work and let me tell you it’s our ‘honeymoon phase’ as they say!
As I write this blog, he asks me ‘baby are you okay?’ and I go like ‘yeah’. Don’t worry that’s our usual way of asking each other about each other’s mind state. Some days the answer to his ‘are you okay baby’ is ‘no, I’m not’ and that’s the kind of honesty one requires to run a marriage, to make it last forever.
There were ups and downs, like any other couple, but we never slept without solving them; the problems, that’s our mantra. I forgot to tell you about our day today, we’re coming back from bhai dooj celebration, no fancy dates, no one on one time and when you’re married to the right person then everyday is a celebration.
It would be impossible to put these nine months in a capsule because there were endless moments of beauty and serenity. In the other hand our ‘olive theory’ sometimes make it hard for us to co-exist. My mental illness takes a toll on him and we were never shy to share those vulnerable moments on our Instagram where everyone is known to share only their highlights.
As this day ends, I’m grateful for this beautiful beautiful man who came into my life and broke through my defenses. That's all for this blog, till then stay connected.
Xoxo
